Family Practice—My Family-Medicine Offerings:

I am an ABFM Board-Certified Family Doctor. Family Medicine is a Board-Certified specialty: similar to Pediatrics and Internal Medicine.

Here’s a quick overview of some of the offerings you and your family can expect from my team and me at Brooklyn Heights Family Practice

  • Patient Healthcare & Health Care Profiling: Infant health, children’s health, men’s health, women’s health; medical care for older adults; physical exams.
  • Preventive Medicine & Disease Prevention Services: Immunizations; routine screening procedures; annual health assessments; well-woman and basic gynecologic care; basic psychiatric care.
  • Medical Diagnosis & Acute Illness Treatment: Not restricted by cause, organ system, age or sex.
  • Referrals to Medical Specialists: I maintain good working relationships with local medical specialists who have demonstrated excellence in their healthcare fields of expertise.
  • My Hospital Affiliation: Long Island College Hospital, on the southern border of Brooklyn Heights and just a few blocks from Brooklyn Heights Family Practice
  • Your Healthcare Access: I keep office hours 5 days a week (Monday through Friday), with evening appointments available. Beyond that—when you need YOUR family doctor—I’m “on call” for you through my answering service 24/7.

Family Medicine developed as a positive response to the rise of specialty medical practices in this country. The goal of the original Family Doctors was to preserve the vital, human-centered aspects of their practice of integrated medicine. As medicine started to segment itself according to age, sex, organ system and disease, the “complete-individual” approach was being lost. And, so Family Doctors fought to keep our family-brand of medicine centered on “you.”

Family Doctors like to use a lot “C” words, Caring, Compassion, Continuity, Coordination of services, and patient Centeredness.

My job at Brooklyn Heights Family Practice is to help you assess your health and healthcare needs, treat your common medical problems and refer you to medical specialists for more singular health care requirements as needed.
